KENNEL STRESS
There’s no point in hiding it, having to leave your animal can be a high source of stress, for him and for you. Be it in a pet sitter’s family environment or in a kennel, your dog is not in his usual environment.
Space reserved
At the Dog Club, we prioritize the wellbeing of our residents and that goes through good stress management. The space reserved for dogs is divided into four rooms: one for small dogs with an interior game room, one for dogs in individual outings and two others for big dogs in group outings. This allows to greatly reduce barking and thus stress at the same time. Every dog has their own space with their belongings, so they feel secure and can rest in privacy.
Outside, it’s time to play, run and spend their energy while socializing with others or not. Exercise is vital for a good stress management; after a period of play, dogs are calm and as we say: a tired dog is a happy dog! Exercise is an essential need for all dogs, no matter their age or size! Our goal is that every dog has fun and experiences good times, so we form harmonious groups and we never force a dog who isn’t comfortable in a situation. It is important to respect everyone’s pace. All of our personnel is formed to understand canine language well and to intervene if necessary.
ONE-DAY TRIAL
We always encourage our new clients to first do a one-day trial at our kennel; besides, it’s free! It’s a good way to familiarize your dog to the kennel and to make him understand it’s temporary. We can then evaluate if other short stays are necessary to desensitize your dog, if he is more nervous.
